im shoni! ive been interested in computers and the internet since my family got a pc in the early 90s. since then, ive been completely glued to the web! ive been making web pages and messing with code since i was little, but its been a while since ive made another. ive been feeling the itch to make one, and well... this site was born! the self-expression that personal websites offer is a very important thing to me and gives me a place to dedicate to myself and freely talk about all the things i love. having my own little place lets me relax and really be myself! im quite shy and can have difficulty with conversations at first, but im always open to making new friends, especially if any part of my site or interests also interests you.
so who am i, you ask?? im a gal that can spend all day playing a good game or visual novel and end up forgetting to eat. im the slowest eater i know. cloudy and rainy days are my jam. im obsessively clean. i can recognize a large amount of seiyuu (voice actors) and like pointing them out when i hear them in a new game or anime.
my main interests are playing video games, watching anime, and reading manga and visual novels! ive been playing vidya since i could hold a controller, it's a lifelong and important passion of mine. imo theres no other medium quite like it!
i also love to draw. i started out traditional (like everyone does i guess) and now im mostly digital. i grew up posting on deviantart, being on various oekaki boards, and doing comissions on subeta.
i love collecting all sorts of things including video games, anime figures, manga, art books, plushies, stickers, and more. i think its so fun and rewarding to have something ongoing to look forward to and be on the look out for. collections tend to really reflect on who someone is, and having my favorite things around me makes me feel cozy.
my earliest internet memories for web design is neopets. little me jumped into that not long after it launched, and i was captivated and spent all day on there playing the games and imagining my pets getting into different situations- essentially, i roleplayed with myself. i wasnt good at making friends so instead i would talk to people on the neoboards, and eventually joined a guild about the famous little hamster, Hamtaro! we were all big fans of hamtaro, and one feature of guilds is having a page you can design for all members to look at. we would take turns drawing backgrounds and designing the page, aligning text boxes, etc. this brings to me the pet pages- each of your pets has their own page which you can completely customize yourself, and people were crazy good at this. i would spend hours finding new pet pages to look at and inspire me to make my own! i slowly fumbled through it and learned html/css, designing each of my pets a unique page and drawing them a background that included borders for text boxes and everything. my current site design is actually quite similar, positional-wise at least, to what one of my pets had.
i also spent tons of time on angelfire and geocities, browsing everything i could and making my own sites too!
